Bam Adebayo Wins NBA All-Star Skills Challenge

The Kentucky effect is starting to take over the NBA All-Star Weekend.

In the first of three events on Saturday night in Chicago, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo won the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, beating Indiana Pacers’ big man Domantas Sabonis.

Adebayo beat Spencer Dinwiddie in round one and Pascal Siakam in round two before facing Sabonis in the championship. It was an epic finish, too. Both players connected on the pass (probably the most difficult portion of the obstacle course) and missed their first two attempts on the three-pointer. Adebayo drilled his third look right before Sabonis could in order to seal the deal.

The former Wildcat joins Heat legend Dwayne Wade as the only other player in franchise history to win the challenge.

After he won the award, Adebayo said that he was going to give the trophy to his mom.

It sure has GM1978, he’s worked his butt off and it’s showing, he’s getting better every game and becoming a force. Miami was the perfect fit for he and Herro and they’re making the most of their opportunities! I love the Heats organization, the way they develop players is almost like a professional College franchise! Lol. I hope he and Tyler stay their entire career there and maybe add some more Kentucky players as well. Great Job Bam!! Now , go Devin!!!

Would love to see the Heat add Quickly in this years draft. Riley knows what he’s doing down there.

Very proud and excited for Bam! But I’ve never heard of any of the dudes he went up against.
