Bam Adebayo’s first trip to NBA All-Star weekend is going to be a busy one.
Not only is the third-year player from the Miami Heat playing in the All-Star game on Sunday, Feb. 16, he’s also been tabbed as a participant for the Skills Challenge that will take place the day before on Saturday, according to Tim Reynolds of AP.
Bam Adebayo is on the NBA's list for the skills competition at All-Star Saturday, league source says.

The Skills Challenge has seen several former Wildcats run through the obstacle course that consists of dribbling, passing, and shooting drills. Karl-Anthony Towns won the contest back in 2016, beating Isaiah Thomas in the finale and DeMarcus Cousins in the semifinals. De’Aaron Fox was selected to the challenge last season but lost to Trae Young in the first round. Jamal Murray, Rajon Rondo, Brandon Knight, John Wall, Anthony Davis, and Devin Booker have also participated in the event throughout the past several years.
Now it’s Bam’s turn, and he should be a popular pick as one of the most versatile big men in the entire league. He’s unbelievably quick for his size, an excellent passer, and just an all-around brilliant basketball mind. At the time of this post, Adebayo’s name is the only one I could find as an official participant, however, more names will surely be announced in the coming days. Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic were popular figures in the Skills Challenge of 2019, so it wouldn’t’ shock me to see them make the cut once again.
I also wouldn’t mind seeing someone such as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or maybe Malik Monk find their way into this contest, either.
