During Game 1 of the Finals on Wednesday evening, Adebayo left in the third quarter with what appeared to be a shoulder injury, with the Heat announcing the following day that an MRI revealed a neck strain.
Before leaving the game, the former Wildcat had eight points (2-8 FG, 4-6 FT) and four rebounds in 21 minutes of action. The game prior, Adebayo had a career-high 32 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists to help the Heat clinch the Eastern Conference title.
Without Adebayo, the Heat have a glaring hole down low against Anthony Davis, who finished Game 1 with a game-high 34 points (11-21 FG, 10-10 FT) and 9 rebounds in the Lakers’ 116-98 win.
