Anthony Davis willing to sign long-term deal with four teams

Which team will land Anthony Davis? That’s the question dominating the NBA world leading up to Thursday’s trade deadline. According to Shams Charania, Davis’ representatives told the New Orleans Pelicans he’s willing to sign long-term deals with only four teams: the Los Angeles Lakers, the New York Knicks, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Brow AND the Greek Freak?? To quote Uncle Jesse, have mercy.

After trading Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks, the Knicks probably can’t put together an offer to get Davis. While neither the Bucks nor the Clippers have made an offer for Davis yet, the Lakers have made multiple. The latest, from Woj:

Get ready for a crazy week.

I’m with you and not really sure why I feel that way but I’ve kind of gotten tired of LeBron and these guys making stupid amounts of money and just thinking they can dictate what their employers must do for them and who they can shop them off too… Entitled…

Cantstopus, that’s how it should work though, not just in the nba. Company’s make their entire livelihood off the blood, sweat, and tears of their workers. Workers should absolutely be able to dictate their employment if they’re worth it. It’s no different than a CEO of Microsoft or whatever demanding a certain pay scale from Apple if they wanted their services. If you’re the best, you get to make those calls.

Right…how dare employees attempt to use their branding and talent to get what they want.

I don’t like that LeBron took total credit for winning the championship in Cleveland and saying that made him the greatest. You should never be calling yourself the greatest of all time unless you’re Ali.

Modern sports is ridiculous….:) Be a man…you make more money than one human should ever make doing anything. Just play and be grateful.

I’ll never understand that mindset. Do you feel that way where you work?

So what you’re saying crowe is you would be all about the money and not worried about your legacy, because AD will take a pay cut to play with a team that has a chance to win the championship. So you’re saying you would play and be grateful as long as you got the most money possible.

Agreed. I won’t be able to root for AD if he’s playing with that insufferable clown Bron Bron. It’s bad enough I can’t root for Rondo. Please AD, find someone else to make a deal with besides the Lakers.

They need to put an end to these all stars getting together and taking below market value salaries just to beat up on the league and win a title. It completely defeats the purpose of a salary cap, competitive bidding, trading players away to make cap room etc. If Westbrook, AD, Durant, LeBron, and Harden decided to take league minimum, they could win a title from any city.

It’s a pretty transparent bargaining ploy. AD pretty clearly prefers LA but there is no way that this list is for real. It’s meant to scare NO into trading him to LA now, which is not actually in their best interest to do.

They may get much less later if they don’t do a deal now. AD can refuse to sign a long term deal killing any deal he doesn’t like.

I’d love to see AD on my Knicks, but the KD-Kyrie potential team up in NYC is so exciting.

Why on earth would anybody want to go to the Knicks???? That’s the only organization in the league that makes the Pels look like they know what they are doing. Superstars go there to become irrelevant.

Uh…because its the Knicks…you know, New York City. Our brightest and best. And playing in MSG. That’s why. Eventually, they will field a winner playing in our biggest market.

How many more decades is that going to take? I loved the Knicks of the 90’s, and I’d love to root for them, but they’re organization is a total $+%^ show. Until new ownership comes to the Big Apple, that’s just the way it’s gonna stay my friend..

MSG is so over rated. Did you know bands that play there make virtually no money because they charge them through the roof for the “honor” of playing MSG. Good thing for them they wrapped up Billy Joel

Why would any superstar play in a small market if he could call his own shots???
Once a guy has reached superstar status, in the game today, he drives his own destination…or his agent sucks. LA or NY is the only option for a guy like AD to live his best life. Why live in a crap-hole like New Orleans when he can buy a fat pad down on the beach in the South Bay or Malibu…and hanging with all the celebs and actresses in Hollywood.
