Anthony Davis signs ridiculous extension with New Orleans

Anthony Davis has agreed to a five-year contract extension worth roughly $145 million with the Pelicans, beginning next season. His 2015-16 salary will be around $26 million, then it’ll only get better once the NBA salary cap increases next summer. The new deal makes him the highest paid player in the NBA.

Congrats, AD!

I would have highly encouraged the young man to stay in school four years and earn his degree.

I wouldn’t have. What’s the point? As an NBA player, he has no time or need for a job outside of basketball. If he suffers a career ending injury, college will still be there, and he’ll be able to go back and pay for it with the millions of dollars he’s making now. Youth only lasts so long, so why stick around in college when you could be highest paid NBA player in only 3 years? There really was no reason for him to stay in school.

Yawn. Who cares? He went to UK for one semester. I bet he needs GPS to even find the campus…if he wanted to ever visit again.

the tears of butthurt louisville fans are so ironic now that they have players in the pros that they like to follow (like teddy, and the next new nba draft pick that hasn’t been cut from a team yet – i.e. rozier and harrel)

UK Freshmen is so off-base and completely and utterly wrong in his comments I actually kind of find it hilarious. Its like Not Jerry Tipton-like satire.

He deserves every penny of it! If you could pick one guy to build a franchise around in the NBA i’d say AD would be the most popular choice.

I am a HUGE CATS fan, love AD and have nothing against him making all the market will bear.

With that said, the fact that he will make more in one year than the entire expenditure for the Police and Fire Departments (salaries, operating expenses, etc.) for the City of Covington, Kentucky or the entire annual expenditure of the Mason County Kentucky School District shows how screwed up our priorities are in this country….and get off my lawn…

that’s also the difference between government spending and a private enterprise…

So AD’s raise comes from ticket prices.
      Teacher’s salaries come from taxes

You can boycott the games by not going. if you boycott taxes, you go to jail.

That’s how the free market works. This guy is one of the best at what he does- THE best for his age. His specific skill brings in millions of dollars to his organization, so he’s entitled to a hefty chunk of that. I’m not saying that what he does is any more important than what police or firefighters do, but his hard work probably from birth mixed with natural talent and athleticism allow him to do something that less than 5 people in the world can do.

Its being reported that Damian Lillard is getting 5yrs/125mil. If I was AD i’d tell NOLA to add on 20 mil because Lillard sucky ass shouldn’t be within 30 mil of Davis

  10. It’s good to be king.
