Anthony Davis Expected to be “Key Role” in Space Jam 2

My childhood just keeps coming back and landing right hook after right hook in my feelings department. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Los Angeles Lakers (wow, this feels weird…) center Anthony Davis is expected to play a “key role” in the upcoming film Space Jam 2, starring LeBron James.

Along with Davis, fellow NBA stars Damian Lillard and Klay Thompson are expected to play roles in the film, along with WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and the Ogwumike sisters.

So who exactly is Davis playing? Larry Bird was playing golf with Michael Jordan and Bill Murray during a scene in the original. Maybe LeBron will be drinking wine with Davis and… Robert De Niro… I guess?

Is Space Jam *probably* a terrible movie? Yes. But do I care? No. And I won’t go back and watch it to confirm it either. But I’ll surely be watching the sequel in theatres. And yes, it will most definitely be terrible, as well.

This is why Zach writes these little stories. He really has no clue about what’s iconic or not. It’s his opinion and he shoulda wrote that in his story. Just because you write for ksr doesn’t make you right!

I question whether you ever actually watched the original. Space Jam came out in the mid 90s… I’m guessing you weren’t born until after the Y2K (remember that?). Bugs Bunny, MJ, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, and the legend himself Bill Murray. Literally one of the best sports movies ever. I actually bought the DVD for my son and it’s one of his go to picks. He actually told me the other day that MJ is his favorite basketball player! I for one am really dreading the LeBron sequel because I fear it will be a disaster. Zack do yourself a favor and go back and actually watch the original, I think you’ll realize the movie is quite good (albeit a little corny… but that’s the point!).
