76ers waive Daniel Orton
Bad news for one former Cat this evening: Daniel Orton has been waived by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Orton joined the team during training camp and averaged 3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11.4 minutes per game. He played in 22 games, starting four, and had a season high 10 points and 10 rebounds in the 76ers’ win over Indiana on November 23rd.

The reality is that he has made more money in those years riding the pine than most people on this blog make in a lifetime.
So I for one won’t be shedding any tears for him as he struggles to make it in the D League.
Agreed. Very worst case scenario would be that he goes abroad to play, and he would of course still make a pretty good living doing that. I don’t think he would be in this situation though had he stayed for another year here, so that’s kind of unfortunate.
This surprises me because the other 2 fringe big men in a Philly (Allen and Davies) are duds. That said, while Orton looked pretty good early on there, his motor has been pathetic over the past few games. He sometimes simply doesn’t seem to care.
His selfishness is catching up, he was quick to leave UK. Couldn’t wait one month extra! Great stats though, he will dominate in a Johnson center pickup game

And Arnett Moultrie is returning from injury.
This kid was a top ten pick if he would of stayed in school for one more year. He could of been a starting center in the league around this time of his career. What a waste of talent.
I wish we could just all agree that Orton is not a former Wildcat.

I don’t get how Orton is not more productive. He has great size, strength and athleticism. Pretty good hands and coordination. He has all the tools, is it just effort?
