YAHTZEE! Top 25 Running Back Torrance Davis Commits to Kentucky

An Ohio running back is rolling the dice on his official visit.

Torrance Davis announced on Twitter he has committed to the University of Kentucky.

A three-star athlete from Glenville High School in Cleveland, Ohio, Rivals ranks Davis as the No. 25 running back in America. He also held offers from Penn State, Michigan State, Tennessee and Pitt.

To put it bluntly, Davis is a monster. His measurables are impressive — 6’2″ 220 pounds — but they do not do him justice. A spectator at Friday night’s showcase camp, he looked more like a linebacker than a tailback.

Davis is the sixth commitment in Kentucky’s 2020 recruiting class, moving UK up ten spots to No. 31 in the 247 Composite Rankings. Joining Justin Rogers, Lamar Goods, Andru Phillips, Beau Allen and John Young, Davis spent time with the latter three after tonight’s camp.

Just over two weeks from UK’s last commitment, Kentucky is still riding high on an immaculate wave of momentum. Even so, it’s just the first day of the Cats’ showcase camps. More commitments could be just around the corner.

Another of the idiot group. You know with the transfer portal even a signed letter means nothing now days. Ask UF as they had FR that went into Portal BEFORE their FR season began. FACTS: Over 90% of the early commits the last 5 years did end up playing for UK so I like our odds. And like I said, you seem to think this is new to football, NOPE, just new to UK as this staff is getting players the o called big programs want. Would rather have 25 commits and have 5 leave than have 25 where all 25 stay. WHY? It means we are getting players that several others want, you see in the past we would keep our entire class as we were their best offer. We beat out Rutgers, Ohio, Marshall etc so naturally they stayed.

Just hope his commitment sticks. I never put too much faith when they commit on campus like this.

Seriously, the difference in 1-25 is not much.
Glad to be at this level in recruiting.
Bring them in, coach them up…
    Win the NC.
I never thought I would ever live long enough to see us as a football power or influence.
By the powers of the football gods, we are getting there.
I am the worst, no doubt in anyone’s mind in doubting this admin on the promise to bring competitive football to UK.
    It is here.
    It is finally here.
    Thanks Mitch…Thanks Coach.

Wasn’t that long ago that we beat Clemson in a bowl game. The foundation has been built, and the walls are going up. Time to put the roof on.

We didn’t have stoops. The comparison is there because clemson got a new coach that started changing the culture. Sound familiar.
