Xavier Peters Schedules Official Visits

Vince Marrow’s job just got more difficult.

The only Kentucky commit who did not sign during the December early signing period, All-American outside linebacker Xavier Peters has scheduled an official visit this weekend to Florida, according to 247’s Steve Wiltfong .  In the timeline on Peters’ 247 profile, there is also a scheduled visit to Florida State for next weekend.

Stock in Peters soared after an excellent performance at the Under Armour All-American Bowl.  Now Florida, Florida State and Miami are trying to persuade the Cincinnati-native from signing with UK.

Keeping Peters from decommitting to Kentucky will not be easy, but never lose faith in the Big Dawg.

I assumed when he didn’t sign early that he was gone. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised now, but not counting on it at all.

See the “Why would anyone go to Clemson?” Article & change the sports & names of the schools. Double edged sword cuts both ways…

Yep, except Zion will probably still stay at the home state football school, and we can’t keep the local kids (or close to local). Of course we did get a few in-state kids who are very talented, but rarely do we get the big fish in football against the big boys. Until we start getting them, we are still chasing rather than leading.

I really wanted this guy. I do beleive he is gone. I wouldn’t be shocked if it ends up being Miami with that “other” guy. He kinda fits that “old school” Miami LB mold.

He recently said he was strongly committed to UK so that probably means he is gone, like most now days will say one thing and do another. If he does leave hope he never sees a down of play at whatever school he ends up at, looking at you Mac Jones.

This sucks. I thought we had him locked up and mainly only reason he didn’t sign was Just getting academics in line.

He already had offers from these schools, so it’s not as big of a deal to me. I hope we are still recruiting him heavily, even though he’s already committed.
