Today the world will watch as racehorse American Pharaoh runs the Belmont Stakes in hopes of being the first horse in 37 years to win the Triple Crown. The last horse to claim this title was Affirmed in 1978, but many are certain American Pharaoh will be the horse to finally end the Triple Crown dry spell. His trainer, Bob Baffert, said the Kentucky Derby was the first time American Pharaoh had been tested by other aggressive horses, but that changed when he led throughout the entire Preakness. For the Belmont, American Pharaoh is currently 3-5 with most of the nation behind him ready to cheer him to a Triple Crown Victory. Post time is 6:50 p.m and will be broadcasted live on NBC.
