It would appear KSR was invaded by two new trolls this past weekend; neither very bright. For some reason, they both decided to attack one of our recruits, Tyler Herro. LOL, we haven’t even seen him play yet. One comment was so offensive, the author of the article, Jack Pilgrim, asked him…”What is hell is wrong with you”?
Not often the KSR writers become involved; but, perhaps they should.

The comment section is almost intolerable on the weekends. I know what you’re talking about, gunnin.

That one guy who keeps commenting in one big run-on sentence after another is a complete idiot who can’t put a decent sentence together let alone have a decent discussion about anything I sometimes can’t help but read his comments because they are like a train wreck you cant stoop looking at

I usually avoid reading the weekend comments, and almost never comment myself. But I couldn’t hold back when one negative idiot made a derogatory comment about the “fans who bleed blue.” And it wasn’t one of those trolls who pop up out of nowhere for a one-time potshot.

If the trolls are wrong people will recognize that also , u dont need to attack endlessly every negative comment! Stand by your comments if they have substance.

It’s not just two people, there are quite a few. He’s just talking about the two new ones.
Even on an article where the author wrote “please no negative comments” the idiots couldn’t help themselves and had to cry all over the post. While it’s annoying and frustrating, it can also be comical, these people are so dumb.

It’s a shame we can’t put forth the effort to play a full game of basketball. Unfortunately, the guys just don’t have the dog in them that we’re used to. I’m not sure we really deserve to make the NCAA tournament.

    • ukjaybrat
      10:19 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

nah we will get in and they deserve it (unless they completely collapse in the last couple of weeks). We have enough quality wins to get in as a 5-7 seed easily. But as Matt has said before, once we do get in, we could beat anybody and we could lose to absolutely anybody. unfortunately that’s jsut reality for this team. too inconsistent to expect anything else.

    • Laker Cat 18
      10:51 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

I think we lose 4 of our next 6 and likely our first one in the SEC tournament (likely to be either Vanderbilt, South Carolina, or Georgia) to finish 19-13. I don’t think we get in on my expectations, they’ll have to exceed them in my opinion.

    • J-Dub421
      10:57 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

Every team is losing this year. I just watched Va Tech beat Virginia, and Virginia is the supposed be all end all.

    • Laker Cat 18
      11:06 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

How many teams to you guys expect to see representing the SEC in the NCAA tournament? We had 5 last year. We’re currently tied for 6th place in the SEC. It’s easy for us to say the SEC is better than the other conferences, but it’s not the case with the NCAA. They seem to still favor the Big 12 & ACC.

    • J-Dub421
      11:15 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

6-7, but with so much parity this year, I really am not sure. It kind of depends on how the rest of the season goes for a lot of teams. For instance, I can’t imagine the committee snubbing Oklahoma/Trae Young, but Oklahoma is 16-8 and 6-6 in conference (same as us).

We just need to win some games.

    • Booby Petrino
      11:40 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

SEC was projected by some “experts” to get 8 in as of last night.

  5. calfanboymafia

I also cant see how its not valid for some fans to have 1 and done fatigue. I believe the early Cal years were so successful not just cause of freshman but also cause of holdovers. Seniors Darius Miller + Jorts plus NBA caliber sophmores returning like T.Jones, Lamb and Harrisons twins .. The freshman part of the formula we still have the other part is missing and without the returning players its too much of a load for the freshman to carry. This is a big problem that im not sure how we fix

    • ukjaybrat
      10:23 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

fatigue is one thing. giving up on your team is different. it’s one thing to not be in love with HOW this team is put together, but giving up on your team makes you “not a fan” regardless of the amount of success

    • Booby Petrino
      10:27 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

but yet when we say a lot of players from this year’s team should return next year, people say they are terrible and don’t want them back. Can’t have it both ways. Can’t say “we want players who are going to play more than one year…wait, not THOSE players, we want future players to stay longer.” I mean you can say it, but you don’t make sense if you do.

  6. Shagaris Sock Puppet
    10:31 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

Dont really know what were exactly good at it, but I know one thing that were bad at that kills us is players are terrible at moving without the ball. Look at past teams where we had shooters or play makers like Monk or Murray and they would fight hard to get open shots and they could actually consistently knock them down. We have a Shai with the ball and everyone else camping out on the 3 point line. Theres no flow at all and definitely aren’t tiring the other teams defense out making them work.

    • runningunnin.454
      10:39 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

That’s all true; and, I’ve said that many times. Too much standing and watching the guy with the ball go one-on-one.

I made a joke on an article Friday that the whole team is just in a shooting slump and would be fine. The outraged responses I got were so funny I think I’m going to do that more often. Kind of a reverse troll.

    • Booby Petrino
      10:42 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

some of the comments from the newbies (or maybe just a new screen name from people like Slater who had to change his) are so bad I can’t tell if they’re joking or not. Like the one guy who keeps saying Brad needs to play more. At first I thought that was a joke, but he was actually defending the comment this weekend so I’m not sure if he’s keeping the joke going for fun or if he really thinks Brad needs to play more.

    • runningunnin.454

Ha ha, I said something like that last week; but, it was mostly tongue-in-cheek, and I was disappointed with the attitude and contribution of one of the guards.
We all know Brad is not here to prepare for an NBA career; he’s preparing for a coaching career.

Lol at one point Dakich called out the refs for something I complain about all the time. Guys “playing through contact.” Shai drove and got fouled with no call (which happened repeatedly) and Dakich said, “Wow, that was a lot of contact there!”

The brackets were odd; we have only one or two more losses than Kansas and North Carolina, and they are two and three seeds. Top to bottom, the SEC is stronger than the Big 12 and the ACC. Yeah, we didn’t show up Saturday; but, a healthy A&M team is very good.

    • Laker Cat 18
      11:00 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

Kansas is 2nd in their conference, UNC is 4th. We are currently tied for 6th. How many teams would you guess the SEC will get into the tournament? I’d bet it’s not more than 6. It’s a numbers game, even though I agree the SEC is stronger this year.

  11. I posted this a couple times the other night, but to soothe our wounds a little, check this out: you can order a Kentucky Colonels championship shirt!

That’s a nice shirt. I wasn’t quite born yet, but I like it.

    • Yep, a lot of folks on here who are closer to my age lament that the Colonels didn’t get taken into the NBA, so at least there is a vintage shirt.

Someone (I don’t remember if it was here or where I saw that shirt linked) said that the Bulls owner at that time wanted Artis Gilmore when the ABA folded, and that is where he wound up. They said the ownder demanded a deal either with the Browns (John Y and family who owned the Colonels), and/or the NBA, that the NBA would not take the Colonels. I don’t know if that’s accurate, but I also remember reading somewhere that John Y didn’t want the NBA to absorb the team and I wondered why.

I’m not sure anything is wrong with this team. I think the teams we have played lately are just better than we are. Just take a look at each position and you can see they are better .One year out of several years this is going to happen. GO CATS

    • runningunnin.454

There may be something wrong, that I’m not privy to. One article over the weekend alluded to Cal’s exasperation with one player in particular. If that player is detrimental to team chemistry…he should sit for a while.

  14. J-Dub421
    11:11 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

Shai is great at driving and scoring, and is a good free-throw shooter. I still say the offense overall runs better with Quade. I just think Quade is a better passer and better at setting up his teammates, or finding his teammates in position to score.

    • secrick

Maybe Brown is disgusted that Jones is such a disruptive force on and off the field, yet never has had to be accountable for it.

    • J-Dub421

    • Kernel Sanders
      11:53 am February 12, 2018 Permalink

Okay then not held accountable enough then. Guess I’m old school, but when your mouth penalizes your team repeatedly, then you need to sit. He has had at least a couple games with multiple unsportsmanlike conduct/personal foul penalties and kept playing. I can forgive the first one, maybe the 2nd time, but I don’t care how good you are, if your mouth causes 45 yards in penalties in one game, then go sit down.
