What was that boom last night in Boyle County?

Did anyone else hear the loud boom in Boyle or Mercer County last night? Around 9 p.m., a loud explosion was heard all around Danville and surrounding communities, so loud it woke my parents’ dogs up from their nap during the Packers/Bears game, not an easy feat in the Thompson household.
911 dispatchers in Boyle County received several reports of an explosion, with some claiming they felt the Earth shake; however, police haven’t been able to find the source or any damage. Social media took off with conspiracy theories. LEX 18 meteorologist Melissa Nord suggested the noise was a sonic boom from a meteor breaking the speed of sound.
After doing some digging on Facebook (the only true news source), I’ve got another theory: tannerite targets. Parksville resident Josh Tarter posted this video of himself shooting a tannerite target (exploding target made of ammonium nitrate and aluminium powder for firearms practice) last night, and said police showed up at his door for questioning:
Happy Thanksgiving ó¾š. I’m glad I’m white or the many police that came to my door may have tased me for shooting targets on my property. www.tannerite.com.

Is that sound loud enough to travel across multiple counties? Apparently this is the second major “boom” heard in the Commonwealth in recent weeks, the first being in the Louisville/Southern Indiana area a few weeks ago.

I asked my dad and he heard it around 9:00 in the Streamland Subdivision area. As the crow flies, this isn’t too far from BCHS. Hope these guys don’t get in any trouble!
