“We Ask You Wednesday” Vol. 59

(EHarmony.UK.com)

The folks here at KSR love getting your input on things… relevant and bizarre. We have to get a little creative around here sometimes. Last summer I started a weekly series called “We Ask You Wednesdays,” that brought in some great responses from many readers via Twitter.

Each week, the question will change and we will hit on a variety of topics, mostly UK-related… but you never know. Each week the best responses will make it on to the website.  This week’s twenty ninth volume of the “We Ask You Wednesday” allowed Kentucky fans to answer the following question via Twitter in 140 characters or less: WHAT WAS THE BEST/MOST ENCOURAGING PART ABOUT SATURDAY’S GAME? WHAT WAS THE WORST/LEAST ENCOURAGING PART ABOUT SATURDAY’S GAME?

.

.

.

The wide receivers are going to be a major strength on this team…

Sounds basic enough…

Again, sounds reasonable enough for me…

The way that game started will be one we always remember…

It’s all better when you get a t-shirt…

So that was you?

Very cool moment.

I don’t get the whole students leaving early thing either… Hopefully not for big games.

The Sun Belt is our kryptonite…

Ouch…

I’m trying to avoid the “Kentucky gonna Kentucky” thing…but

BEST ANSWER OF THE WEEK: Boom’s Dad is the man.

Re: Approx. Half of student section leaving early 3rd quarter. This has happened for years and should suprise no one. The continuous party outside the stadium is a huge draw and I guess they just can’t wait to get back to it. I can’t see UK’s football admin allowing 6 half empty sections right next to their recruiting room. My hope is that about 60 percent of those seats will get reallocated to season ticket holders who made those sections so entertaining over the years since the stadium was bowled in. Put the “less interested” in a couple of rows at the top of the stadium where no one would notice when they leave.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I’m tired of people slamming the students over this. Continuous party? Yeah right. You obviously know nothing about the process involved in students getting to the game and actually having a good time. The university makes it extremely difficult for students to immerse themselves in the game day atmosphere. First of all, the “wet campus” is a complete joke. All the hoops they are now making students jump through just to get a tailgate spot around the stadium are absolutely ridiculous. I had a two mile walk just to get from my apartment to our tailgating spot (off campus) and another mile walk to the stadium. Once at the game, I pretty much stood the entire time because we in the student section like to stand the whole time and show support for the team (as all student sections everywhere have done forever). So my apologies for not wanting to stand for another two hours in what should have been a blowout victory. I’ve had season student tickets every year since I’ve been at UK, and every year the students have been the ones to at least show up to the games when no one else would. I really wish all these people who aren’t currently in school would quit getting their panties in a wad over the students leaving. Give the seats to the general public? Are you serious? The general public will quit coming as soon as we lose a game.
