We are Paying It #McForward today

For those of you who aren’t listening to this morning’s radio show, we’re inviting everyone in Big Blue Nation to Pay It #McForward with us today. What does it mean to Pay It #McForward, you ask? Let me explain…

I stopped by McDonald’s on my way to the radio station this morning and when I went to pay for my Egg White Delight, the cashier told me the car in front of me paid for my meal and for the vehicle behind me. I didn’t know the person who picked up my tab and I’ll never meet them. It was just a random act of kindness on their part and it inspired me to get the next two orders in line.

After telling the story on the air with Matt and Ryan, they decided they’re going to buy lunch for a stranger today and we encouraged the show listeners to do the same. It can be at McDonald’s or wherever you’d like, if you decide to do it. I can assure you it’ll make your day 100 times better and it’s a kind and generous way to say goodbye to 2013.

If you’re a Twitterer, use the hashtag #McForward or tag us (@KySportsRadio and @DrewFranklinKSR) to let us know you joined in on the fun.

Happy New Year, Cats fans.

I think this is AWESOME. Great to see others do acts of kindness just out of the generosity of their hearts. Happy new year Big Blue Nation!!!

Though the McM. isn’t the worst of it, McD.’s is nearly poisonous; be generous somewhere better.

McD’s is all kinds of bad in all kinds of ways.

I completely disagree. I go to McDonalds occasionally and think there is nothing wrong with it. Not overweight and I’m healthy. Nearly poisonous? You’re an idiot. People can eat where they choose, because some over indulge is their fault, not McDonald’s.

Just the socially awkward Internet generation’s way of feeling good about themselves. Pay my mortgage or truck payment and then you can brag about it.

Wow. So unless you have the financial means to do something huge, you shouldn’t try at all to make the world a little bit happier?

Actually, I don’t feel the need to be “a joy”, because I pay my own way & take care of myself. It bet I know who you voted for……

Because you pay your own way is the reason you don’t feel the need to “a joy?” Heck, I’m tickled to death to be able to pay my own way.

I have played it forward before, the last time was this fall, I found a high Apple I stlye cell phone in a parking lot of Mike Linnigs. So I looked in the contact list, and kept calling them..To try and find out the persons name who own this phone. Finally got someone who told me, so I called the owner. She was grateful that I called. She ask me if I could leave it with the management, along with her name and address.. Then she ask me for my name and address..I gave it to her, and a few days later, I received a Thank You Card in the mail, with $25.00 dollars inside the card. Needless to say I was surprised at this reward. So the very next time I went to Mike Linnigs, that following Friday evening, On my way out, I seen a soldier in uniform sitting with his family having dinner, they had signs on the table..Hurry Home, Be Safe, We Love You…So I knew the young soldier was getting ready to be shipped out soon..So I stopped and said Hello to everyone, I told them about the cell phone and thank you card with $25.00 inside… I ask to shake the young mans hand, and said Thank You for Your Service, now let me buy You and your parents dinner, and gave him a $50.00 dollar bill and said..Be safe, and God Bless…and Not to worry about playing this act forward ..He smiled and said..Thank You,..This made my day, and I hope it made his too…

You know if you really want to pay it forward, then why pay for someones food who clearly can already pay for it themselves? I mean, they are already in line so they have money for it. Instead go help out someone who cant or donate the small amount it takes to pay for McDonald’s to a charity that can use it…

the best you can come up with is criticism of people that are doing kind acts? it doesn’t fit your criteria so all you can do is be critical?

Lady in front of me at Walmart was short 1 cent, and because I read this, decided to cover it. I know I’m a bigger spender, but its the thought that counted right?

Paid for the guy behind me. The cashier at the window couldn’t believe it. The man gave me a wave as I drove away. Great way to start the new year #mcforward
