WATCH: Future Wildcat Andru Phillips Leaps over a Car

Andru Phillips can get up.

When the hard-hitting cornerback isn’t wearing football pads, he’s competing in track and field events. The future Wildcat runs the 100m, 4×100 relay, competes in the long jump and triple jump, his best event. Last year he was ranked nationally in the triple jump and finished second in the state of South Carolina.

Phillips should consider the high jump. Unlike Blake Griffin, who only jumped over the hood of a Kia in the 2011 Slam Dunk Contest, Phillips completely cleared the roof a Nissan Altima.

Wow. Just, wow.

Was the same thing upon his successful jump and difficult landing.

But at the same time, G*D forbid, what a terrible way to blow out a knee or other ligament or bone or other body part.

Just not worth it. My son broke a radius and ulna several years ago doing stupid human tricks. It was nasty deformity that require O.R. a few days later.

      Just not a smart move.

Hopefully all that ability translates to a guy who’s willing to leap for interceptions and maybe even a couple of special teams blocks. Heck we need a guy like that at wideout because I’m tired of seeing other teams over throw their target and the guy just dives for the completion while our guys have a tendency to not even reach for it. Make thoes plays and you get drafted earlier.

Impressive but don’t try it again. We don’t need you hurt!

Maybe we bring him in on goal-line offense to leap for the TD.
