John Calipari may be the family’s most public figure, but it’s his daughter, Erin, who’s back in the news today. In case you didn’t know, Erin Calipari is actually Dr. Erin Calipari – she earned her PhD in neuroscience from the Wake Forest School of Medicine in 2013. Now, she’s using her education to help save lives from Vanderbilt University, while using her last name to get the word out to more people.
In a new feature by WLKY in Louisville, Erin discusses her potentially life-changing addiction research and how her dad helps the cause.
“It gives me a platform to communicate science to people who wouldn’t be exposed to it otherwise,” Calipari said of her family’s large following. “These are people’s children, people’s uncles and parents, and I think we’re at a new phase of this where it can’t be ignored anymore.”
Her research is focused on how drugs and addiction affect the brain, including how hormones impact those effects in men and women.
But it wouldn’t be the Calipari family without a little trolling involved.

All jokes aside, Coach Cal has to be insanely proud of his oldest daughter.
