Update: Avery Williamson wears cleats despite NFL’s threat to fine

Earlier this morning, Avery Williamson had planned on not wearing his commemorative cleats that honored the victims of 9/11. The NFL threatened to fine the former Wildcat due to a “uniform violation”.

Despite the NFL’s threats, Avery Williamson opted to wear the cleats after all.

Here is an in-game photo of Williamson and his cleats custom-made by Lexington business, True Blue Customs.

Good for Avery for standing up and fighting for a cause; one that every American has been affected by in some shape or form.

PAPD, the police association located in New York City that patrols the World Trade Center, as well as other New York and New Jersey police unions, reached out to the Titans linebacker offering to the pay the fine.

We have not yet heard from the NFL and the consequence that will be handed down to Williamson.

If he is fined he won’t be alone. More than a dozen players showed pictures of their commemorative shoes today.

Yes, good for him; I didn’t know the NFL was run by Obama.

As of now, I will not watch the 49ers, Dolphins, Broncos, Seahawks, or Chiefs this season.

So according to Goodell it’s okay to disrespect the flag and national anthem of America but you better not show respect to the folks who died in the most tragic terrorist attach on Americans? What an idiot!!! I really wish some of the “Official Sponsors” of the NFL would start pulling out $$$ you can be that Roger would start paying attention.
