UofL plans to appeal the NCAA’s decision

UofL interim president Greg Postel released a statement saying the university will appeal what it believes is “excessive” penalties from the NCAA.

“The entire U of L community is saddened by what took place,” the statement read. “It never should have happened, and that is why the school acted to severely penalize itself in 2016. Today, however, the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions went beyond what we consider to be fair and reasonable. We intend to appeal all aspects of the penalties.”

Sounds like it’s going to be bad, huh? Like, bye-bye banner bad.

Who is this “President Trump” of which you speak? I do think it’s interesting that one sleazeball is named PITINO, and the other should be called PINO (President In Name Only).

The UofL administration is primarily concerned about the financial penalties. They are working very hard to get their finances in order and the NCAA just took millions of dollars back from them. This is about the worst thing the NCAA could have done to them. Seems appropriate to me.

UMASS and Memphis vacated all games won with Camby his senior year and D. Rose his one year. This part of the penalty is consistent with what was done to those schools.

That press conference reminded me so much of “A Few Good Men”. You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth. Jurich wanted to go Col Markenson on the press. And Pitino looked like Michael Corleone in GF 3.

Oh, boo hoo! NCAA went way beyond fair and reasonable. Ask Damion Lee and Trey Lewis if UofL was fair and reasonable when they crapped all over these grad transfers desire to play in the NCAA tournament.
Also, SOP, you forfeit all games that an ineligible player(s) participated.

Any honor and they’d accept the punishment with grace and pledge to do it better in the future.
