UK’s new track star Sydney McLaughlin can also shoot hoops

Earlier this week, track star Sydney McLaughlin committed to Kentucky, a huge coup for Edrick Floreal and the UK Track & Field program. At the Rio games in August, McLaughlin became the youngest U.S. Olympic track athlete in more than 40 years, making it to the semifinals in the 400-meter hurdles at only 17 years old.
McLaughlin, who has a devoted fanbase on social media, gave her followers even more to talk about yesterday with this video of her shooting hoops with the caption, “You know Kentucky’s a basketball school.”

How big of a star is Sydney? That video has almost 700 retweets and over 2,500 likes in less than a day. That’s a lot.
Any chance you’d like to also play some basketball while you’re here, Sydney?
