For the seventh time in a row, the Kentucky Wildcats volleyball team has beaten the University of Louisville and won the Battle of the Bluegrass, winning three sets to zero.

The No. 16 Wildcats (7-4) were able to take down the No. 25 Cardinals (6-3) behind a stellar offensive performance. UK ended the game with a hitting percentage of .347 compared to only .070 for UL. Junior Madison Lilley finished with 41 assists and a perfect hitting percentage while junior Gabby Curry came away with 20 digs. Senior Leah Edmond led the team in kills with 15.

UK easily won the first two sets by 10-plus points but had to rally in the third set after falling down 7-5 before rattling off five straight points. The final set would go down to the wire with Kentucky maintaining a slight lead throughout before ultimately winning the set and the match.

Wow!! Fantastic job ladies!! You girls put on a absolute dominant performance!! My Goodness!! Lol. I mean there’s a nice job and then there’s just flat out making your opponent look like they don’t belong on the same floor with you. Fellas, these girls are awesome and if you didn’t get a chance to watch tonight, you missed a great performance!! I’m definitely going to get back up there and catch a few more games this year. I went to a couple last year and it was a very fun time. Anyway. I’m proud of you all! Great job tonight, and keep it up.

    Excellent, UK was ripping it,
UL was playing dodgeball…”Now watch out for my nose, my plastic surgeon doesn’t want me doing any activity where balls fly at my nose”.

Glad to see them bounce back after a tough loss to Purdue earlier in the week.
