UK softball moves on to the SEC championship game

We mentioned it earlier when talking about the tennis team, but this team deserves its own post. The UK women’s softball team defeated LSU 4-3 earlier today to advance to the SEC championship game where they will take on Georgia at 8 p.m. tomorrow night on ESPN2. Be sure to tune in to watch the Cats go for the SEC title.

It took 9 innings for the Cats to get the victory. Sylver Samuel had the game-winning 2 RBI double to clinch the win. Kelsey Nunley had a big day on the mound in a winning effort for the Cats.

Go Cats. Nunley is awesome. She has thrown 3 complete games and has thrown 404 pitches in those games and still going strong. Go luck againist UGA.

There is no men’s softball so I’m not sure why they would be called the women’s softball team when that point is apparent. Just stating the obvious

Nicely done! Very excited for a talented group of ladies. Shock the softball world and bring the SEC championship to Lexington. Go Cats!
