Mallory Peyton was the story in this one, the Junior accounted for all of UK’s first three runs including a home run in the 5th to give Kentucky a 3-1 lead over NU in the top of 5th.
Autumn Humes was able to help herself with SAC fly in the top of the 5th as well to give Kentucky a 4-1 lead. Northwestern would scratch across a run in the 6th before Tatum Spangler scored on a SAC fly and Renae Abernathy roped an RBI double to give UK a 6-2 lead going into the 7th. Lauren Johnson knocked in another run in the 7th to give the ‘Cats a 7-2 lead.
Autumn Humes sat down the side with little resistance in the bottom half to seal the 7-2 victory for the Wildcats, advancing them to Sunday action in the Regional.
Oh, and Tatum Spangler will probably be on Sportscenter tonight.

The Wildcats will have a chance at a rematch against Notre Dame, a team who waxed Kentucky 12-3 earlier today, but the Wildcats have to beat them twice to advance to the Super Regional.
The first pitch from John Cropp is set for Noon ET.
