Another three-star prospect is high on the Kentucky Wildcats.

Shortly after three-star WR Tajh Sanders announced on Thursday that UK had made his top five list of potential college choices, Joshua Josephs, a class of 2022 three-star outside linebacker from Kennesaw, GA dropped his top eight with the ‘Cats also making the cut. Measuring at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, Josephs is rated by 247 Sports as the No. 546 player in the country and a top 30 player from the talented state of Georgia.

Joining Kentucky in his top eight are UCF, Memphis, Penn State, Tennessee, Michigan, Miami (FL), and South Carolina. Kentucky’s inside linebackers coach Jon Sumrall extended a scholarship offer to Josephs, who plays his high school ball at North Cobb, on March 16.

Back in late March, Josephs told KSR that there were three schools in particular that he enjoyed talking with the most, and all three of them made his top eight: UCF, Tennessee, and Kentucky. On top of that trio, both Penn State and Michigan had been in constant contact, as well, and also made his top eight.

As of right now, Josephs has official visits set up to see Tennessee, Penn State, and Michigan. He told KSR on March 20 that, along with those three schools, he would also like to schedule official visits to UCF and Kentucky, which would fufill all five of his official visits if he were to go through with that. That being said, Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports reports that Joesphs will take an unofficial visit to Lexington on June 2.

A decision date has not been set.

“They [Kentucky] love his overall ability and think he can get out on the field and make some plays,” Josephs’ assistant coach at North Cobb High School, Jesse Lynch, told KSR in March. “He’s got good length to him, he can run, he can cover, he can rush the passer, which is his best skillset, getting after the quarterback. He’s athletic enough and got good enough speed that he can drop in coverage if need be.”

After Jamin Davis, who is also a linebacker from Georgia, went from a three-star prospect to a first-round NFL Draft pick on Thursday night, Kentucky has now produced multiple pro linebackers in the Mark Stoops era. Could Joseph follow in Davis’ footsteps?
