After a hot shooting start, Matthew Mitchell’s squad controlled the game throughout to win their fifth straight against the Louisville Cardinals.  Simply put, Kentucky just didn’t miss many buckets, making 52% of their field goals and hitting 43% from 3-point land.

Nobody shot better than Makayla Epps.  The home-state superstar scored 24 points on 10-11 shooting.  She had plenty of help along the way.  Alexis Jennings’s mid-range game was dead on, scoring 14 points on 7-11 shooting, Maci Morris was 2-3 from 3-point land, and Taylor Murray had 11 points.  Janee Thompson made sure she never lost to Louisville, finishing with 10 points and 3 assists.

It’s hard to stop somebody when they can’t miss.  UofL couldn’t stop Makayla Epps tonight.

Team looks damn good this year. Lost all those players but still playing well. Impressive. Epps and Thompson are great guards. We have some rebounding prowess now and size. Got a damn chance this time.
