Head coach Tim Garrison is in his 10th year in the position for UK. He has led the Wildcats to a spot in the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association’s preseason poll during every year of his decade-long run with the program, including two years in the top 10.
The Wildcats are returning several team members, including All-SEC junior Josie Angeny and sophomore Raena Worley, who won back-to-back SEC Freshman of the Week honors last year.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wildcats will play a conference-only schedule. All eight of the participating SEC gymnastics programs are ranked among the top 16 in the WCGA’s preseason poll this year, suggesting a tough road ahead for Kentucky.
The match against ‘Bama is set to air on ESPNU at 9 p.m. as part of their “Friday Night Heights” coverage. The first home match will take place on Jan. 15 against No. 14 Auburn, where up to 15% of the normal capacity will be allowed. Tickets will be sold on a single-meet basis and can be bought through UK.
