UK football recruit plays piano, likes KSBar’s wings

Mark Stoops and the Kentucky football program had a big visitor on campus this past weekend for an official visit.

Kalil Branham, a four-star wide receiver who recently decommitted from Michigan, was in Lexington for a second time in less than a month. The visit went extremely well and now Kentucky is in the driver’s seat for Branham as his recruitment moves forward.

By the looks of Branham’s social media accounts, his official UK visit included the new Jeff Ruby’s for dinner, hanging out with former UK greats like Josh Allen and Tim Couch, and a UK jersey cake. But above all that, the most important part of his time in Kentucky was his ringing endorsement of the wings at KSBar and Grille, another stop on his tour.

KSR wings were really good,” he tweeted Sunday afternoon.

Thank you, Kalil. We are very proud of our smoked wings.

Once he got back home to Columbus, Ohio, he tweeted a video of him playing the piano before going to bed.

247Sports currently ranks Branham as the No. 22 wide receiver in the country and the fourth-best prospect in the state of Ohio.

Certainly a big change from recruiting against mid- major schools, for mid major talent.

If this all pans out and he becomes a UK great, KSBar should take credit for him getting here

In a few years after he’s done playing for UK and gets drafted by the NFL, they can make him KSBar’s spokesman.

It will be ok. Getting rejected means you’re not settling for the lower tier talent. Getting the attention of guys like this is a big step up from where we were just a few years ago.

Not long ago UK was getting the guys that “Wanted to play in the SEC” (meaning they settled on UK because the big boys didn’t want them. Now… UK is getting the good players that want to play FOR UK!
