UK Fans of the Day Want Late Night Recruiting Notes

Mac Jones Picked Up Some Interesting Offers

The 2017 quarterback commit continues to build momentum in the recruiting world, picking up two offers today after performing well over the weekend at a Rivals camp.  His ninth offer comes from Mike Leach’s Washington State.  His tenth offer is from the man he committed to at Kentucky — Southern Miss offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson.

Jones had some concerning Tweets after Dawson was fired by Mark Stoops, but seemed reassured after Darin Hinshaw paid him a visit to watch him throw.  Nonetheless, Jones’ continued recruitment will be interesting to follow throughout the summer as he begins to gain attention from bigger and better schools.

Cole Bentley WOWs

The 6’4″ 290 pound Belfry offensive guard announced his entrance onto the major recruiting scene last month at the Army Combine.  He took the next step this weekend at a camp dubbed “Lineman U” in Nashville.  Here’s some of what Rivals’ Woody Womack had to say about his performance.

The 6-foot-4, 286-pound guard won nearly every rep, including several against future FBS defensive linemen. Bentley is relatively new to playing guard, but his strong lower body helps him make up for his rawness at the position.

Before heading to Nashville, Bentley took a trip to WKU’s Junior Day.  After the camp he received an offer from Toledo, joining Marshall and Charlotte.  Bentley has yet to receive an offer from Kentucky, but he did visit for Junior Day where he watched his Wildcats play in Rupp Arena for the first time.

DeMarco Artis is Offered by Louisville

The 2017 Florida outside linebacker committed to Kentucky in December, but that only lasted two months before he decided to look elsewhere.  Since then the offers have begun to stack up.  After posting in the 99th percentile at a regional Nike combine, he’s received offers from UMass, NC State, Iowa State, Virginia Tech and yes, the Louisville Cardinals.  Now with eight offers on his plate and a visit to UCF next weekend, it’ll be interesting to see if Kentucky stays in the mix.

Malik Monk vs. De’Aaron Fox

Before they were committed to Kentucky, Calipari’s future backcourt dueled at the Nike Global Challenge.  Even though it’s tough to judge off one highlight reel from Courtside Films, when Monk brings this many dunks, it’s hard not to get excited.  Just don’t pound your chest too hard for Monk around Mrs. Tyler Thompson.  I hear Fox is her new favorite player.
