Two players with Kentucky connections made the cut today for the Pan Am games representing Canada. Incoming freshman, Jamal Murray and former Wildcat, Kyle Wiltjer, were both selected to participate in the 2015 Toronto Games among a roster of 12 athletes. The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Canada Basketball made their announcement early this morning. Thus far, the athletes have participated in a six-day tryout as well as a training camp, and will move into the Toronto 2015 Athletes Village later today.

We wish the best of luck to both Murray and Wiltjer as they compete for their home country this summer!

How good is Murray going to be? Is he Dwayne Wade like? I hope he can take over a game and score at will. Surround him with superstars Ulis, Skal and Briscoe, he should be able to rip other teams apart.

Minor correction: Kyle Wiltjer was born and lives in Oregon – so Canada is not his “home” country – he does, however, hold dual citizenship in both countries through his father being Canadian born.

Can’t wait to see this kid in the blue and white next year. I think he’s a difference maker. And Cal will put him in the best position to succeed. GO CATS!
