UK Commit Christian Lewis Carries Pleasant Grove Back to State Championship

Wide receiver Christian Lewis is good at the game of football.

Friday night the UK commit played in Alabama’s Class 5A semifinals. To return to the state finals, Lewis’ Pleasant Grove needed to take down an undefeated Ramsey football team that previously handed them a 33-26 loss in the regular season finale. Midway through the second quarter, the outlook was bleak for Pleasant Grove, trailing 14-0. Then Lewis took over.

After catching only two passes in the first half, Lewis scored two second half touchdowns to help the Spartans score 35 unanswered points and propel Pleasant Grove to a 35-14 victory. Lewis mossed two defenders on this jump ball, 34-yard touchdown. Not too shabby.

The UK commit finished with six receptions for 84 yards and the two scores.

“We put the hard work in during the offseason to get back where we are and it feels really good to be back in the state championship,” Lewis told Al.com. They’ll play undefeated St. Paul’s Thursday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium in the Class 5A AHSAA State Championship.

Under Stoops 6 receptions for 84 yards and 2 scores will be his stat line for the year.

Hopefully, Porky Pig will learn from this and change the offense going forward.

Everyone is so quick to throw the coaches under the bus, but how soon does most forget that this coaching staff has brought us up from the laughing stock of the sec (maybe college football) to contenders the last few years, repping the kentucky football program to the fullest with obvious holes in offense. They didn’t give up, they didn’t pack it in, they worked hard and came up with a new game plan and put the wheels in motion for the remainder of each of those previous seasons. Last year was one of the brightest moments that uk football has had since the tim couch Era. All you nah-sayers should stfu and understand we was depleted badly personnel wise in the last 2 games but our team still showed up and fought. Yes we have issues, yes the coaches sees those issues and yes they are working on them, so be patient and dance with the ones that brought you there. Terry Wilson seems to be having issues, but given the history of stoops while qt kentucky, he gets the benefit of the doubt in my book. Despite of some hard to watch games, some bad play calling whatever whatever. Hes still a great coach, just give the coaching staff time to turn the corner to break away from the middle of the pack in sec, to hopefully play along side some of the big dogs
