UK Baseball is in the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in school history

Britney Howard | UK Athletics

Your University of Kentucky Wildcats are in the NCAA Division 1 Baseball Championship for the eighth time in school history, announced today on ESPNU. The Cats will travel up the road to Louisville as the No. 2 seed to face third-seeded Kansas on Friday. The game, set for 2:00 p.m., can be seen on ESPN 3 or heard on the UK IMG Network on your radio devices.

Top-seeded Louisville and Kent State make up the rest of the participants in the region. UK swept Louisville during the 2014 regular season.

As fun as it will be to knock the cards out again, you know if Louisville wins the regional they’ll argue it makes up for us knocking them out of the basketball tournament in Indy. I don’t want to hear the “steeplechase championship = basketball championship” argument all over again.

Great opportunity for the Bat Cats to take this regional at the expense of the host school..
