If you’re like me, running is just about the only way you’re staying sane these days. UK Athletics is doing its part to keep the Big Blue Nation motivated and engaged by holding the first-ever “virtUal5K” presented by Kroger May 23-25. Participants can run a 5K around their neighborhood all at once or spread the distance out over the three days of Memorial Day weekend.
You can register for free at UKathletics.com/virtual5k. Once you register, you’ll receive a registration packet via email with information about how to participate, along with a customized digital race bib and a link to a Spotify playlist created for the race. Each participant will be assigned to a team led by a celebrity captain from the world of UK sports, the details of which will be included in your race packet. UK is encouraging participants to track their runs on the Nike Run Club App or any fitness tracking app and share videos and screenshots of their time using #TilTheBattleIsRun on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.
While we’re talking running, have you joined the KSRun Strava group? We started it back on March 23 and now have almost 500 members, with weekly challenges and prizes from our sponsors Sword Performance, CTM Band, and Kentucky Branded. KSRun merchandise is coming soon, so join the movement!
