U.S. Open Saturday Night News and Views

Tiger Woods

Is it just me or is golf just as exciting, if not more, now that Tiger Woods is blowing up round after round?  Tiger, a 3-time U.S. Open Champion, missed the cut after shooting 16 over par on Thursday and Friday.  The course at Chambers Bay has proven to be extremely tough and some golf fans are complaining that the course is too difficult.  However, as someone who is so bad at golf that I simply quit playing, I find it somewhat refreshing watching professionals struggle to this extent.  Today, Jason Day battled vertigo symptoms throughout his round but still has a share of the lead at -4 along with Dustin Johnson, Branden Grace, and Master’s champ Jordan Speith.  In other UK related news, former Wildcat J.B. Holmes is just 3 strokes back of the leaders!  Tune in on Championship Sunday to watch J.B. make his run at the U.S. Open championship!  On to the news and views!

In other Karl-Anthony Towns News…

KAT worked out for the Minnesota Timberwolves who hold the top pick in the draft.  All signs point to the T-Wolves selecting the Kentucky star, especially now that he will not be working out for the LA Lakers.

Randall Cobb Shares His Take on the Final Four

If you go to and click on the US Open Leader board and click on J.B. Holmes Name, you can view his scorecard for today. Click on the video symbol on hole #16 and you you can view the Golf Shot of the Day where J.B. made a Rare Eagle on a par 4 hole hole. Pretty impressive!

Golf is impossible for normal humans… I love to see superstars struggle on this course. This is real competition.

I guess I’m different by liking the Chambers Bay Course. I’ve been watching the tournament since it started and pulling hard for JB. He has played as good as anyone in this years open and has a very good chance of winning. So hit em long and straight, JB and bring the US Open title to Kentucky and UK.
