Future Kentucky Wildcat Tyrrese Maxey is turning heads at Team USA training camp.
Preparing for next weekend’s FIBA U18 Americas Cup in Canada, reporters, recruiting analysts and coaches are at the U.S. Training Center in Colorado Springs to watch 33 players compete to make Team USA’s final roster. It’s no surprise that Maxey has been one of the best of the best.
Just taking scrimmages into account, Kentucky commit Tyrese Maxey has been the best player here at #USABMU18. Has been terrific the last two days. Getting by guys with his first stel, hitting 3-pointers.

I think Borzello meant first *step.
Impressive evening session for future Kentucky PG Tyrese Maxey. Skilled, competitive lead guard who plays with energy and has a joy for the game. Instinctual on both ends of the floor. Engaging personality who studies Steve Nash's PnR game thanks to @TimMartin_TX. pic.twitter.com/9Q6xurR6hq

T.J. Walker has been on the Tyrese Maxey hype train for more than a year. His initial evaluation continues to be validated. It’s great to hear that Maxey can perform well under pressure, but it’s a shame we’ll have to wait for more than a season to see Maxey in Kentucky blue.
