Tyrese Maxey, Kahlil Whitney named McDonald’s All-Americans

Congratulations to Tyrese Maxey and Kahlil Whitney, who were just named to the McDonald’s All-American Game. The future Cats will both play on the West Team in the annual all-star showcase, which takes place March 27 in Atlanta.

Maxey signed with Kentucky in November while Whitney is waiting until May 3 so he can be in his hometown of Chicago, where a ceremony is planned. The two five-stars push the total number of John Calipari’s McDonald All-American recruits at Kentucky to 35, 36 if you count Reid Travis.

Three of Kentucky’s remaining 2019 targets also made the list: Anthony Edwards, Matthew Hurt and Jaden McDaniels. Keion Brooks did not.

Two, so do we get 3 more or do we already have 3 more for next year…only see two listed.

I saw Matthew Hurt is still undecided on that list. Are we still in the mix for him?

Last I heard, we’re still in on Hurt and likely one of the favorites.

If I remember correctly, his dad talked about him going to school to work to be a professional basketball player, and given that’s the reputation we have…

Seems like more and more of these kids are waiting until after early entrant to NBA guys announce their intentions. Can’t say as I blame them.

Wish Dontaie Allen didn’t get hurt. He should have been in the mix for the McD game. Feel bad for him.

Tough to put together a “WEST” team when only 6 of the 24 players selected are from west of the Mississippi River.

But they put one of the players from out west Washington State (not DC) on the East team. Jaden McDaniels who is undecided and looking at UK, while the players going to UK are on the West team.

Well we have 7 Mcdonalds all americans now and can’t beat Bama, Seton Hall {both teams probably have zero} and lose by 34 to a team as young as we are. Better get 10 or so for next year.

Sorry, that is not necessary. You do know we are top 10, just beat 2 ranked teams, and are getting better all the time, right? I like my team.

Still stuck on 40-0, huh? Even ’96 lost twice.

Get a life. Its just a game.
