Tyler Baron Commits to Tennessee

You can take one four-star prospect off the board. Tyler Baron will be a Tennessee Volunteer.
The four-star defensive end announced from Knoxville Catholic High School that he will stay close to home, choosing the Vols over Kentucky and Ohio State.
Kentucky made an appealing pitch to Baron. The Cats were in the running until late in the game, but ultimately Dad won. His father serves on Jeremy Pruitt’s administrative staff at Tennessee. It’s awfully hard to convince a kid to say no to Dad and put his job in jeopardy to attend a rival school.
Best of luck to Baron. The Big Blue Nation can rest easily knowing the Cats still beat the Vols for three (and likely four this afternoon) defensive line targets in the 2020 recruiting class.

Surely no one thought he was ever going to be a Cat. But like you said, we’ve gotten other big gets so it’s fine.
So why write about it? Let’s celebrate the ones we got.
Baron was never coming to us. Vols at #10. Gotta catch up to them. Today is a nice start, but it’s harder now that butch jones isn’t asleep at wheel
Has to be tough even considering other programs when you know your dad’s job depends on your decision. Then you have to wear that orange on top of it.
