A rather odd news story is making the rounds on the internet today, and it comes from my hometown of Danville, Kentucky.
According to Boyle County Police, on Friday night, two women — Isabelle Mason, 21, and Jaimee Pack, 19 — stole two guinea pigs from Pet Paradise, smuggling them out in an oversized purse. When the store clerk tried to stop them from leaving the parking lot, the woman in the passenger’s seat threw one of the guinea pigs out the window and the driver ran over the clerk’s foot. Thankfully, the clerk and the guinea pig are expected to be okay — phew! — and the women eventually turned themselves in. Both were charged with shoplifting, robbery, and cruelty to animals. Mason was also charged with first-degree wanton endangerment.
The guinea pig that wasn’t thrown out of the window is still missing. According to WKYT, the mother of one of the two women found an extra guinea pig at their apartment and brought it to the store to be identified, but it wasn’t a match.
Someone find that guinea pig!
