Twitter Recap Of The Red Carpet

Screen Shot 2016-05-06 at 8.34.09 PM

Booker and Ulis were stylin’ last night. But what about on Derby Day?

The Derby Red Carpet is always a great place to see what celebrities are rolling into Churchill Downs. It was a pretty eventful day on the Red Carpet, so here are some of the coolest people that were in attendance. Thanks to all those who tweeted photos from the event. Let’s roll.

UK fan and friend of KSR, country singer J.D. Shelburne, dropped on a knee during today’s red carpet ceremonies at the Derby. Luckily, she said yes. WAVE3 caught the whole proposal from Churchill Downs.

Alex Poythress rolling in:

The Point god looking nice:

Booker in an early lead for best dressed on the Red Carpet.

The Broncos’ replacement for Peyton Manning *shutters*. Oh, and why the cane?

Hopefully this baby comes to the Music City sooner rather than later.

I would put in one of Kanye’s lyrics about Ray J, but this is a family site.

For the ladies:

Megyn Kelly

Louisville native De’Angelo Russell signing the champagne. No word if he said anything about Nick Young.

I’m digging the Hawaiian look for Russ Smith.

“It’s a great day to be alive.”

Last but not least, Terrence Jones.

Several others were in attendance. Boyz II Men, Michael Montgomery, Jon Voight, Matthew Mitchell, and Lindsey Vonn all slayed on the Red Carpet. We’ll have more Derby coverage as the afternoon rolls on.

It’s funny that KSR hasn’t posted the full length pics of Booker and Ulis in their tuxes. Now everyone don’t get offended, I love them both but they both need to hire someone to advise them on their clothing. The skinny tux (think skinny jeans) was bad enough but then Booker wore what looked like slippers or housenshoes without socks, it looked awful and imagine the foot aroma after hours sweating inside a non breathable shoe with no socks! Ulis was MUCH better, nice looking tux and appropriate dress shoes. The only thing was the hem on his trousers was about 3″too short. You remember when you were in grade school and your mom had you wear pants from 2 years ago and everyone said you were wearing “high waters”? Well there you go. How does a tailor hem pants too short for a man who is 5’9? Amazing. So especially Bookrr, please take some of your rookie pay and hire someone to help you dress before you become the laughing stock of the league.

Oh and I do realize I probably don’t know what the latest styles are and so forth, so I admit that. But I do know what looks stupid and what doesn’t regardless of whether it’s “in style”, like the Prince Albert slippers or whatever they are called 🙂
