Tremont Waters picks Georgetown hat over Kentucky and Indiana hat

Four-star point guard Tremont Waters committed to Georgetown over Kentucky and Indiana, Wednesday afternoon. Waters said he decided on Georgetown during his second visit to the school, last Friday.

It ultimately came down to the Hoyas and Hoosiers, he said, although UK was rumored to be the leader not too long ago.

John Calipari had been recruiting Waters to play with or behind Trae Young or another point guard prospect, while the other two schools offered a better opportunity to be the guy.

Waters took his official visit to Lexington in mid-September and hosted the UK staff in the fall recruiting period.

He gone.

Not to diss the kid, but it sounds like he lacked confidence in himself concerning his ability to succeed at UK given the competition.

Calipari has bigger fish in the pan, at least he didn’t go to Indiana or Duke so that is great~

If he wants more playing time, he needed to go elsewhere.

If you think you NEED to be the guy and don’t have the confidence that you ARE the guy then UK probably isn’t the right choice. To quote Dirty Harry “A man’s got to know his limitations.”
