The BBN has received more clarity ahead of National Signing Day. It has not come in the form of good news.
Three-star running back Torrance Davis committed to Kentucky at an official visit in June. The Cleveland native was the only commitment in UK’s 2020 recruiting class that did not sign during the Early Signing Period in December. After telling recruiting analysts at both Rivals and 247 Sports earlier this week that he had cleared the necessary hurdles to put pen to paper and sign with Kentucky on National Signing Day, he announced on Instagram that it will in fact not happen.
What’s next for Davis? Excellent question.
Initially believed to be an NCAA Clearinghouse matter, Davis could resolve the matter and sign in April. Kentucky may also opt to use the scholarship elsewhere. The running back room already has five players on the 2020 roster and could add another dynamic athlete if Michael Drennen chooses UK over USC on Wednesday.
As I stated just hours ago, until Kentucky’s coaches receive a signed fax, anything can happen.
