The stakes just got a little higher for tonight’s game.  New Albany head coach Jim Shannon told Jeff Greer the nation’s second-ranked junior prospect, Romeo Langford, will be at the Yum! Center to watch the Cats take on the Cards.

The superstar shooting guard grew up cheering for the school across the Ohio River.  Tom Crean was one of the first to offer Langford before Pitino and Calipari entered into the mix.  Pitino recently attended Langford’s nationally-televised game against the No. 1 team in America.  The highlights from that 40-point performance are impressive.

Winning tonight’s game could go a long way in Langford’s recruitment.  Duke and North Carolina are also in the mix with the area’s big three schools.

I’m sure it is fun for him to attend the game BUT I can’t imagine the outcome will have anything to do with where he goes.

Unless you are a fan of UL or a fan of UK doesn’t it really come down to does he value playing time over improvement as a player getting ready for the pros? It isn’t quite as cut and dry when throwing Duke and UNC in the mix but the UK / Louisville decisions shouldn’t be that hard unless he isn’t confident he can earn playing time at UK.

Not that long ago strippers and hookers could have been part of the equation but I’m guessing that’s off the table for a few years at least.
