Tom Izzo ripped Dan Dakich for comments about Michigan State students

Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo was pretty upset that fans in the “Izzone” chanted mean things to Dan Dakich during last night’s win over Ohio State.

But then someone on Izzo’s staff showed him why the Spartan student section was attacking Dakich, and he took a moment in his postgame press conference to rip Dakich himself.

“Danny owes our fans and our students an apology,” Izzo said of Dakich, once he learned Dakich said Michigan State students are too dumb to get into Michigan.

“If I would have known that before the game, I would have embarrassed myself almost as much as he embarrassed himself, and I would have led the chants,” Izzo said. “Calling us whiners and that is kind of unprofessional. But saying our students couldn’t get in there? And he’s doing games for Michigan when his son’s there? That is a disappointment and that is ridiculous.”

How long is ESPN going to let Dakich embarrass them. He is a twitter-idiot.
He can dish it out, but he can’t take it….he blocked me months ago.

ESPN might actually do something about it now that it involves the great Izzo. He’s been trolling Kentucky for years and ESPN has done nothing.

It’s hard being a Hoser fan these days and Dan DBag knows even if Crazy Creen gets canned he would never been named the Head Hoser.

He did get a crack at is as interim HC at IU when Sampson got canned. He went 3-4 and IU decided to hire Crean.

I’m aware of that but like you said it was only interim.

Though not appropriate for an ESPN employee because college athletics is their brand, Michigan does have a better academic reputation in many more areas of study than Michigan State.

Always hated the dude. Thought it was the hoosier blood running thru his veins that just naturally made him hate all things Kentucky. Then later came to realize that he’s just a contrarian prick. He takes great joy in getting under the skin of people. He’ll say whatever he thinks he needs to say to get a rise out of those who either disagree with him or throw shade his way. Hate to say it, but he’s more typical of what we see these days in the so called media. God, I miss the good old days when class was something that people would strive to exude. Shock and awe is what our sports media strives for today.
