Just as Tyler Davis fell over top of Isaiah Briscoe during the Nets vs. Magic Summer League game yesterday, so too will the temperature finally fall back down to tolerable levels this weekend. So if you’ve been putting off mowing the grass or hitting the links because it was just too darn hot, congrats, because that excuse is off the table for the next few days.

NBA Summer League Action Continues

Maryland Subpoenaed in the FBI’s Investigation
Next stop along the FBI’s Crazy College Corruption Cleanse? Terrapin Country. Yahoo! Sports reported yesterday that the University of Maryland was served two subpoenas. The first pertained to assistant coach Orlando Ranson and an unnamed player, later reported to be Diamond Stone. The second was a request for documents concerning Silvio De Sousa, who was once favored to be a Terrapin, but instead wound up at Kansas, a school which is already tied up in the FBI’s investigation. HMM…
Perhaps sending a caravan of black SUVs to Lawrence is in order?
Regardless, it had been a while since a shoe dropped in this case. Maybe the next one will come down sooner rather than later.
Proposal Would See Undrafted Basketball Players Able to Return to School
I’m pretty sure this policy is almost universally supported by fans, but alas, it has never been a reality. Until sometime soon, perhaps. The NCAA Commission on College Basketball has been contemplating allowing undrafted players to return to school. Jeff Goodman tweeted out the details yesterday:

This option would give players all the incentive in the world to enter the draft, and would remove fan anxiety about who’s going to declare. I’m all for it.
