Good morning, BBN! It’s been an exciting week of sports news, with announcements of the NBA’s return and UK’s plan to bring football players back on campus. Here’s a roundup of what happened this week and what’s on the horizon.
Kentucky football workouts will resume tomorrow
The Cats will get to hit the weights Monday morning, as the SEC’s embargo on all on-campus activities will be lifted.
Sources tell KSR that UK Football workouts will begin at 8 am on Monday morning
50 players have been cleared already and will begin. Group 2 begins the process of being cleared next week

As the first group begins team activities next week, the second wave of players will return to campus and begin the process of becoming medically cleared to play. It will be the first time the team meets together in person since March 12, and it’s safe to say fans are excited:

WATCH: De’Aaron Fox talks NBA return
The former Wildcat will have the chance to lead the Kings to a playoff spot when the NBA heads to Orlando next month. The Kings are one of the 13 Western Conference teams invited, and currently hold the 11 seed. De’Aaron Fox caught up with WKYT’s Lee K. Howard to discuss his feelings about the new league format. LOOK: UK Football team participates in Lexington protest
On Friday, Mark Stoops, Associate Head Coach Vince Marrow, and Director of Player Development Courtney Love led the Kentucky Football team’s march at a Black Lives Matter protest in downtown Lexington alongside Mayor Linda Gorton and other community leaders.

Former Wildcats back in German league action
Derek Willis and Archie Goodwin both were in action yesterday as the German easyCredit BB League resumed play. The former Cats both start for the Ratiopharm Ulm, and helped secure a 95-85 victory over FC Bayern yesterday.
Willis added two points while Goodwin posted 11 points and five assists.
Keely Willis, Derek’s wife, provided some updates on the league earlier in the week.

He will be quarantined in a hotel, with his team and 9 others. They got tested when they arrived, and will be tested after every game(every other day). No ones allowed visitors.

Date is set for NBA Draft
Earlier this week, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski broke significant news regarding the NBA Draft. The Draft Lottery, which determines the order of the first 14 selections, will take place on August 25, followed by the NBA Draft on October 15.

In just a few short months, we’ll know which teams Tyrese Maxey, Immanuel Quickley, Ashton Hagans, Nick Richards, and EJ Montgomery will begin their pro careers with. But until then, all we can do is speculate. Let the mock drafts continue!
