Today on KSR: Louisville Hush Money

Good morning, everyone and shoutout to these Kentucky fans in Iceland for repping the Cats. Did you know that Iceland is actually very green and Greenland is very icy? At least that’s what I hear. Maybe we can phone these two in for confirmation.

Here’s what you can look forward to as we inch closer to the weekend.

Drake threw shade at Louisville and Rick Pitino on his new album

In case you missed it in the post directly before this one, UK celebrity fan Drake showed his allegiance to the Cats by throwing shade at Louisville and Rick Pitino on his new album, Scorpion. Listen to the song “Sandra’s Rose” and you’ll hear this lyric:

“Louisville hush money for my young gunners. Rick Pitino, I take them to strip clubs and casinos.”

Somewhere, Rick Pitino is begging Pitbull to seek revenge.

The Cats had their second practice last night

Sadly, we don’t have a practice report like we did earlier this week, but we do have this tantalizing video of Keldon Johnson doing what I believe we will come to know as Keldon Johnson things:

Feel free to use these for your “Slamming into the weekend like this” jokes.

NBA Free agency begins tonight

And everyone wants to know where LeBron will go. It’s looking more and more like he’s headed to the Lakers with Kawhi Leonard and/or Paul George, which would mean there’s no more cap space for Julius Randle. Free agency officially begins tonight at 11:59 p.m. tonight, so get ready for LeBron watch to dominate the sports world.

No World Cup matches today

With group play over, the teams will get a break before the knockout stage begins tomorrow. Here’s the bracket for the Round of 16:

Vamos Colombia!

Tomorrow is the final John Calipari Satellite Camp

The last John Calipari Satellite Camp of the summer takes place tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wayne County High School. The camp is open to ages K – 6th grade and there are still a few spots available, so to enter the running for “Best Parent Ever,” get on over to UKAthletics.com to register.

Anyone seen The Incredibles 2?

I’m going tonight and have heard good things. The original is one of my favorite Pixar movies of all time, so I can’t wait to see how the story continues. I’ve also heard rave reviews for American Animals, the movie about the Transy book heist. Also, GLOW Season 2 just dropped on Netflix. So many great excuses to stay inside and beat the heat this weekend.

It’s Aaron Torres Day on KSR

A familiar voice will soon take over the airwaves on the final day of Matt’s vacation. Send us out on a high note, Aaron!

Saw Incredibles 2 two weeks ago. Incredibles 1 is also my favorite Pixar movie. 2 is the first movie this year where I didn’t look at my watch at any point. (Yes, I also saw Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.) Loved it, particularly Jack-Jack. I want a cast/crew t-shirt! (it’s emoji-like drawings of the Parr family in color on black.)

American Animals is fantastic. An absolute must-see.

I didn’t love Incredibles 2 but the kids did. It was every bit of 2 hours long and I prefer my kids movies to be closer to an hour and a half. I looked at my watch a lot! Plus the short film they showed before was really weird. With previews, short story, and movie you’ll be there for 2.5 hours.

Saw Incredibles 2 last week and was pleasantly surprised.

Short film was waste of time and made the total movie experience TOO LONG.

Really liked the “2” though – had one slow spot, but Jack-Jack is a blast and the diminutive designer woman makes my day. 4,5/5 stars. 🙂
