It’s Monday morning and the world is moving on to a new work week with new challenges and new things to look forward to, but I’m not ready to let go of the weekend just yet. Saturday gave us the Kentucky football game we had been craving: a blowout victory by the Cats with a fun offense — we haven’t seen one of those in years — and the fact that it came against Louisville in Louisville only made it sweeter. I wish the game could’ve lasted forever.
But unfortunately we must push forward with our lives instead of relishing in the Governor’s Cup excitement forever.
Here’s what to know and what’s ahead for the day:
No football press conference today.
We’ve gotten used to hearing from Mark Stoops each Monday afternoon, but that Monday routine is over now that Kentucky’s regular season is over. I’m sorry. You’ll have to listen to something else at noon today.
You’ll get a new KSR Football Podcast.
The KSR Football Podcast crew is getting together tonight for our regular season recap show with a heavy emphasis on celebrating the Louisville win. We’re recording it at KSBar and Grille tonight around 6:30 (feel free to stop by) so it’ll be out sometime after that.
Have you seen the latest poll projection for UK?
If not, click here.
Kentucky should move up the college basketball rankings.
There is a good chance the 10th-ranked Cats move up a spot when the AP releases its new college basketball rankings today. No. 7 North Carolina lost to unranked Texas last Thursday, so the Tar Heels should fall behind Kentucky in the new poll.
No. 5 Tennessee also lost last week, but its loss came to second-ranked Kansas, so the Vols shouldn’t see too big of a drop. However, that game could help Kentucky later in the year if Kentucky and Tennessee are fighting for the South Regional in Louisville, as expected.
Matthew Hurt set his official visit to UK.
With James Wiseman and Vernon Carey ditching Kentucky (ugh), Matthew Hurt is one of the last remaining big men in Class of 2019 who is still considering Kentucky. The five-star power forward now has John Calipari’s undivided attention, and on Sunday he announced his plans to officially visit Lexington. Hurt will be on campus this coming weekend for the UNC Greensboro game.
The UK football staff paid a visit to Wandale Robinson yesterday.
Mark Stoops, Vince Marrow, Eddie Gran and Michael Smith made the trip to Frankfort yesterday to check in on their prized commit, Wandale Robinson. Robinson scared Big Blue Nation recently when he said he would consider Louisville if Jeff Brohm took the job, so the UK coaching staff stopped by to make sure things are still all good between the Cats and the top prospect in the state.

I bet they talked about Saturday’s game while they were there.
Titan Up on Monday Night Football tonight!
Until then, I’ll be blowing money on Cyber Monday deals and writing for you here on Kentucky-Sports-Radio-dot-com.
