Good morning and Happy Memorial Day!
Before we get rolling with a regular day at the KSR office (we don’t do holidays), let’s take a moment to remember all of the men and women who died while serving in the armed forces. They are the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice defending this country, and they are the reason we celebrate today. We are able to live our lives because of them and all of the other servicemen and women who have served or are still serving. Our deepest gratitude goes out to them and their families.
It’s Decision Week for PJ Washington, Jarred Vanderbilt and Wenyen Gabriel.
Kentucky’s water-testers are running out of time to make their decisions regarding their basketball futures. The deadline is Wednesday at midnight so we will soon know which of the three (if any) will be on Kentucky’s basketball roster next fall. I wish I had some new information or an educated guess for you, but I do not. Maybe TJ can provide a little bit of insight in his Monday Insider Notes later today.
UK Baseball will learn its NCAA Tournament fate at noon.
The NCAA Selection Show is slotted for noon today and it will be then when UK learns if it is in or out of the NCAA tourney. If we’re to believe the final projections, the Cats are going to Clemson.
That is not a done deal, though.
LeBron James is going back to the NBA Finals.
Make it EIGHT straight NBA Finals appearances for LeBron James. The last time the NBA Finals didn’t have LeBron James, John Calipari just finished his first season at Kentucky.
It’s going to be fun watching him go 1-on-5 against the Warriors.
CJ Conrad almost 100 percent healthy again.
Mel Kiper’s No. 1 tight end in college football will be back to full strength for his final season in Lexington this fall. His father, Mike Conrad, told Go Big Blue Country, CJ is “doing great” and he is on track for a “100-percent recovery.”
It’s almost time for the second “Ask Anything Mailbox.”

Today’s KSR radio show is a re-run.
The guys took the day off to enjoy the holiday weekend. They’ll be back tomorrow with a brand new show and a look ahead to the summer tour.
It will be a normal day here on KentuckySportsRadio.com.
So please, when you’re not in the water or shoving a hot dog in your mouth, stop by to read all the latest in the world of UK sports and whatever else comes up throughout the day.
And again, take a moment to honor and remember all the ones we’ve lost. We are forever grateful for their service.
