It’s opening day for UK Baseball!
It may be only February 15 with freezing temperatures and snow expected to make its way into the Lexington area tonight, but for the UK baseball team, it’s time to get their season started.
The BatCats are in Clarksville, Tennessee ready to take on Austin Peay at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon.
IT’S GAME DAY!!!!!

It won’t be televised anywhere, but you can listen to the game on 98.5 FM Lexington or keep up on UKAthletics.com.
They’ll play three games against Austin Peay this weekend, followed by three games against Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas next weekend before finding their way back to Lexington for their first official home game at Kentucky Proud Park.
Speaking of UK baseball…
Two former UK athletes were on the Ellen Show
Former UK baseball player Riley Mahan and former Kentucky volleyball player Jackie Napper, now engaged, were on the Ellen Show to participate in a game called “You Bet Your Fiancée.”
The rules are simple: outsmart your opponent, or fall in terror from the ceiling down to the floor.
As expected, the dynamic former Wildcat duo dominated on the big stage, running away with the blowout victory to take home a 65-inch television.

Well done by both of them.
Alvin Gentry is done talking about Anthony Davis
The New Orleans Pelicans pulled off an impressive 131-122 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder last night, but at what cost?
After just 16 minutes of action, star forward Anthony Davis suffered a reported muscle contusion on his left shoulder, keeping him out the rest of the way.
An MRI revealed the injury was minor and wouldn’t keep him out for an extended period of time, but it did add controversy to Davis’ situation in New Orleans as to whether or not he should even be playing in these games.
After the victory, New Orleans head coach Alvin Gentry was quick to lash out about the situation, saying “This whole thing has been a dumpster fire.”

While the Anthony Davis situation is an absolute mess and needs to get resolved sooner rather than later, former Kentucky forward Julius Randle is making the most of his time as New Orleans’ premiere big man of the future.
Last night, Randle dropped a ridiculous 33 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in his team’s big home victory.
Julius Randle was huge for the @PelicansNBA as they picked up the big win against the Thunder at home! ?
