I wish sports figures would stay out of politics. Spirts is for entertainment and to get away from every day drudgery. I can save the price of a ticket and watch the news if I so choose. Sports figures are way over paid and they well could destroy their lavish life style.

I wish Presidents would focus on meaningful issues instead of sniping, dividing, manipulating and using sports as a tool to lather up their base.

NBA players are not “overpaid”. In a free-market economy whatever someone is willing to pay you is by definition what you are worth. Actually, because of salary cap limits, they may be underpaid.

It’s annoying how conservatives are in favor of free-market economics until we start talking about celebrities and athletes.

Might help if politicians would stay out of sports?

You are Social Justice Warrior, Marxist for thinking that the president shouldn’t lash out at people on Twitter.

Lebron said in interview he felt Trump was “using sports to kinda divide us.”

“Sports has never been something that divides people,” James told Lemon. “It’s always been something that brings someone together.”

It has Bron Bron, except of coarse when NFL Football players decide to kneel when the National Anthem is played. The NBA have rules against this, which is the only reason NBA players are not kneeling as well.

Now Trump should probably not have responded to this since he is the P.O.T.U.S, but the reason he did is due to it being a political “Hot Issue” & when other players are telling our president to shut his mouth, it time to take a step back. These public Sports figures are sending the wrong message to our youth & it keeps getting worse.

To be accurate, the NBA rule is NOT a new rule. It has been in place for decades and was enacted to make sure players did not continue to warm up, stretch or shoot while the anthem is played. In fact the NBA ENCOURAGES its players to speak out about community issues surrounding their teams and league.

Your comment becomes a joke when you say “These public Sports figures are sending the wrong message to our youth and it keeps getting worse”. Give me a break.

Subsitute “POTUS” for “These public Sports figures” in your sentence and it makes much more sense. I am so much more worried about a half-cocked President who lies, cheats, pits people of different race and gender against each other, and incites violence, sending the wrong message to our youth than I am Lebron James or even NFL players that kneel sending a wrong message. #SAD

You said Trump shouldn’t have responded… So do you also think Trump is also sending the wrong message to the youth with his online activities and trolling?

Because we need to be consistent.

KAT needs to shut his mouth. Trump is absolutely right. The left just can’t handle the fact that Trump is a good president.

Trump inserted himself into these conversations by commenting on sports issues and calling players names.

If he can be unprofessional and talk about people on twitter so too can they.

I don’t see why you would hold a 22-year-old Power Forward to a higher standard of discourse than the 72-year-old President of the United States.

It all started with the disrespecting of the american flag. The president fights back & uses more abrasive language in response to idiotic issues than a normal lying politician. Only the Left supports this disrespectful behavior & i hope it continues so my president can win again in 2020 & continue to clean up Obama’s social mess.

So you two actually believe that Trump is trying to divide people through sports?? Give me a break. The left is notorious for just making up stories so mindless followers of sports figures will believe them and hopefully hate Trump. So why exactly is he not allowed to say something on Twitter just because he is the president? You all just can’t handle the fact that he, unlike our last president, actually had the balls to speak up.

Trump can say whatever he wants. Other people can say what they want about it.

That’s how freedom of speech actually works.

The right can be mad about people not standing for the anthem. The left can be mad about trump calling people names on twitter.

All of you guys are overly sensitive and politically correct… you just care about different things.

Whats the matter Kernel Sanders. Did 11 herbs & spices go to your brain? Disrespecting the American flag IS sending the wrong message. The fact that these “Athletes” are public figures & use “street talk” to get their point across is childish to be honest. As for Trump. Lets not forget the “lies, cheats, pits people of different race and gender against each other, and incites violence” is the definition of today’s Democratic Liberals. Look at Whoopi Goldberg the other day on “The View”. If you dont know, youtube it. Some of you liberals have lost your minds. Even Matt Jones has mentioned this erratic behavior on his TV shows.

    Enough said….

KAT needs to look around before telling the POTUS to get stuff done. I guess the lowest unemployment rate for AA & Hispanics, 14 million off of welfare, tax breaks, best economy in years isn’t getting things done. KAT if the socialist, commie bastards on the left weren’t creating issues every day imagine what he would have already accomplished. Stick to basketball and your millions.

The unemployment rate has been falling steadily for the last 8 years ever since the end of the housing bubble. It’s technically accurate to say unemployment is falling under Trump but somewhat misleading to say it in the context you did because you implied that it wasn’t falling before under Obama which it objectively was.

Additionally, we are less than a week removed from Trump announcing bail-outs for Farmers impacted by a trade war he started.

There are some good things he’s doing I guess but he didn’t exactly pass “The New Deal”. He’s not Franklin D. Roosevelt. Let’s attempt to be objective.

You are literally sitting at home writing internet comments about politics right now. The EXACT THING you are telling Karl Towns he shouldn’t do. Why do you believe you are entitled to do this and he’s not?

At any rate, I’m okay with people who think athletes should stick to sports… as long as they ALSO think the president should stick to politics.

Is KAT a citizen now or is he still a Haitian? If the latter is correct then he doesn’t have a vote and his comments are meaningless. Maybe he should share is wealth with some of his countrymen. I’m sure many are still without housing.

Karl Towns was born in the United States. He’s a US citizen. His father is also American. I believe you are referring to his mother who is Dominican.

      Skal Labissiere was Haitian.

Do a little research before you come up with your jokes next time.

Lebron has a plantation mentality, so he’s kind of the opposite of #walkaway figures like Kanye West or Brandon Tatum. And that’s sad. KAT needs to think about this.
