One of the Big Blue Nation’s best will be wearing blue and white in his home state Thursday night.

C.J. Conrad will rock No. 47 for the New York Giants when the G-Men enter Paul Brown Stadium to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in the third game of the NFL preseason. The Ohio native will get the best of both worlds, playing 90 minutes from UK and three-and-a-half hours from home. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available for as little as $7 apiece on Ticketmaster.

If you can’t make it to Paul Brown Stadium, there are a few other NFL preseason games on the slate.

  • 7:30: Ravens at Eagles
  • 7:30: Panthers at Patriots
  • 7:30: Redskins at Falcons
  • 8:00: Jaguars (Josh Allen) at Dolphins
  • 8:00: Packers vs. Raiders

The final game of the evening is being played in Canada. The exotic venue called for Aaron Rodgers to wear only his finest attire to greet our northern neighbors.

A Break from the Heat

On Tuesday, Mark Stoops was happy his team practiced in 90-degree weather. After all, the home-opener could be a toasty noon kickoff. A day after the team roasted, he rewarded his football players with a trip to the pool. Nobody was more prepared than Lynn Bowden.

@UKFootball

He’s the best athlete on the team, but he does not flip as well as a few others.

The Final Training Camp Practice

Today will be the final day the football team hosts the media for post-practice interviews at 2019 UK football training camp. They’ll still meet a few more times to get in some early Toledo prep before starting the game-week routine next Monday. Time flies when you’re having fun.

Nine Days till Kickoff

Speaking of game week, we now know who will be on the call when the Cats take the field against Toledo August 31. Taylor Zarzour, Matt Stinchcomb and Alyssa Lang will be at Kroger Field to cover UK’s season-opener on the SEC Network.

Move In is Almost Finished at UK

The insanity surrounding campus is almost complete. Instead of moving every student onto campus in one weekend, they’ve stretched it out over almost a week. Before they went to the pool, UK’s freshmen football players helped their classmates get into their new dorms. Big Nik, MJ Devonshire and the rest of the crew had plenty of fun while lending a hand.

A New KSR Football Podcast

We’re getting the gang back together this afternoon. Charles Walker, Austin MacGinnis and Drew Franklin will join me at KSBar and Grille to share what we will expect to see from the Cats this season now that training camp is near its conclusion. Make sure you’re subscribed on iTunes or Spotify to be the first to hear all of our shenanigans.

Colonial Gardens is Finally Open

More than six years and $6 million later, a South Louisville landmark is no longer vacant. Colonial Gardens first opened its doors across from Iroquois Park as Senning’s Park back in 1902. The home of Louisville’s first zoo eventually transformed into a beer garden and a night club where Elvis Presley sang a tune or two.

The renovated and expanded site pays homage to its past and gives kids a place to play while parents enjoy cocktails in the beer garden. Yesterday Taco Luchador became the first of four restaurants to open. There is still plenty of work to do before the project is completely finished, but after multiple delays, beggars can’t be choosers.

The KSR Food Bracket Continues

After a wild first day of intense debate, the KSR Food Bracket moves on to the round of 32. See which restaurants moved on before Matt Jones gets on the mic at 10:00 a.m.

Colonial Gardens is opened? Was by there 2 days ago, inside was gutted, no doors, chain fence around it, and outside needed a ton of work.
