Today on KSR: Bryce Hopkins set to meet with media, plus more from Pangos All-American Camp

Good morning, folks. Expect plenty of recruiting content coming to the site today. We’ve got loads of it in the works. Nick Roush will also be at South Oldham High School later today for Bryce Hopkins’ first-ever media opportunity as a Wildcat. It should be a busy Thursday in Kentucky sports. Let’s get into it.

Bryce Hopkins Day

It’s Week 2 of the Kentucky Men’s Basketball satellite camp tour across the Bluegrass State and the ‘Cats are at South Oldham today with freshman forward Bryce Hopkins expected to speak with the media. Brennan Canada kicked off the camps this week with Lance Ware taking the stage yesterday.

KSR’s Brent Wainscott was in attendance at North Laurel High School to check out Ware, who has stolen the spotlight as the most energetic person at these camps–even more so than the young campers.

More from the Pangos Camp

Jack Pilgrim and I spent the last few days in Las Vegas and somehow made it back in one piece without having to take out a small loan afterward. While we were there, we spoke with over a dozen high-profile recruits who have some sort of Kentucky interest. We’ve already broken down thoughts from Jalen Duren, Dereck Lively II, Keyonte George, and J.J. Taylor, but we’ve got plenty more coming to the site later today.

Stay tuned… In the meantime, catch up on anything you might have missed from the last couple of days.

Jacob Tamme’s Swing For Soldiers Classic

In what will be its 11th year, the “Swing for Soldiers Classic” hosted by former Kentucky Wildcat tight end Jacob Tamme is set and ready to roll. The event is scheduled for Monday, July 12, and its purpose is to give back to those who have fought for this country’s freedom.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the event via its website:

The Swings for Soldiers Classic was born out of two loves: A love for the men and women who selflessly sacrifice for us, and a love of the game of golf. We believe wholeheartedly in the mission of supporting and taking care of those who have risked everything for our freedom. They risk it all, and many have given greatly. That is why we started this event: To give back to those who have paid such a high price for our freedom. Their actions merit being honored, and we honor them with our gratitude: both personally and monetarily. The servicemen and women that we support through this event have had their lives change forever in battle. They’ve been through a life-changing negative event. Our goal is to help give them a life-changing positive event. What an awesome opportunity!

In ten years, we have raised over $1,000,000 for Homes For Our Troops. Come join us at the University Club of Kentucky on Monday July 12, 2021 to be a part of adding to that total….Let’s build another house!
